  • Paint Protection Film (PPF) Cost in Colorado: Real 2026 Prices & Local Installers

Paint Protection Film (PPF) Cost in Colorado: Real 2026 Prices & Local Installers

Short answer: In Colorado, paint protection film starts around $399 for a small front kit, $1,000โ€“$2,000 for partial or full front-end coverage, and $6,500+ for a full car. Those numbers come from a local XPEL installer’s posted prices, shown below.

We checked the websites of about 20 Colorado PPF installers listed in our directory. Only one posts prices. The rest quote each vehicle individually, and below we explain why, which brands they use, and what to ask before you book.

Real PPF Prices From a Colorado Installer

Man Cave Colorado in Westminster is an XPEL installer and the only shop we found that publishes its paint protection film prices:

    CoveragePosted price (XPEL film)
Door cups or door edges$25 each
24-inch hood, fenders and mirrorsfrom $399
Partial front: 18โ€“24 inches of hood and fenders, plus bumper and mirrorsfrom $1,000
Full front clip: full hood, fenders, front bumper and mirrorsfrom $2,000
    Full carfrom $6,500
    Windshield protection filmfrom $500
Posted “starts at” prices from Man Cave Colorado in Westminster, checked October 2026. Confirm with the shop for your vehicle.

    PPF Coverage Levels Explained

    • Partial front: the leading 18 to 24 inches of the hood and fenders, plus the bumper and mirrors. This covers the area that takes most rock chips.
    • Full front (front clip): the entire hood, fenders, front bumper and mirrors. No visible film line across the hood.
    • Highway or track package: full front plus high-impact areas such as rocker panels and A-pillars. Car Lab Detailers in Fort Collins lists a package like this.
    • Full vehicle: every painted panel. The most protection and the highest price.

Why Most PPF Shops Don’t Post Prices

The same coverage costs very different amounts on different cars. Panel size and shape, the film line, and the paint’s condition all change the job, and many cars need some polishing before film is applied so that swirls are not sealed underneath. Endless Garage in Loveland puts it simply: “a Cayman and a Cullinan are not the same job.” Expect a quote after you share your year, make and model.

    PPF Brands Colorado Shops Use

Is PPF Worth It in Colorado?

If you drive I-25, I-70 or mountain highways often, probably yes, at least on the front end. Winter road treatments mean gravel on the roads for months, and the hood, bumper and mirrors take the brunt of it. A chip that reaches primer is expensive to repair properly; film prevents it.

What PPF won’t do: it will not stop hail dents. For storm damage, see our guide to car detailing after hail damage. And if your main goal is easier washing and gloss rather than chip protection, a ceramic coating costs less. Many owners combine the two: PPF on the front, ceramic on the rest.

Questions to Ask Before You Book

    1. Which film brand and product line? Ask for the specific line, not just the brand.
    2. What does the warranty cover, and for how long? Yellowing, peeling and cracking are the usual items.
    3. Are edges wrapped, or is the film cut to stop short of panel edges? Wrapped edges are less visible but take more labor.
    4. Is paint correction included? Film locks in whatever is underneath.
    5. How long do you need the car, and when can I wash it?

    Frequently Asked Questions

How much does PPF cost in Colorado?

Based on one Colorado installer’s posted XPEL prices (October 2026): about $399 for a 24-inch hood, fender and mirror kit, $1,000 for a partial front, $2,000 for a full front clip and $6,500 for a full car. Most Colorado shops quote each vehicle individually.

Why don’t most PPF shops post prices?

Price depends on the vehicle’s panel sizes, the film chosen and the paint’s condition, which often needs polishing before film goes on. Most shops give a firm quote once they know the car.

    Does PPF protect against hail?

No. Paint protection film helps against rock chips, scratches and road debris, but it will not stop hail dents.

Should I get PPF or ceramic coating?

PPF stops rock chips; ceramic coating does not. Many owners put PPF on the front end, where chips happen, and ceramic coating on the rest of the car.

What PPF brands do Colorado shops use?

Among the shops we checked: XPEL, STEK, SunTek and LLumar, among others.

  • Window Tinting Cost in Colorado: What to Expect in 2026

Window Tinting Cost in Colorado: What to Expect in 2026

Colorado’s intense sunshine, high altitude UV exposure, and extreme temperature swings make window tinting one of the smartest investments you can make for your vehicle. Tinting reduces cabin heat, blocks damaging UV rays, and gives your car a clean, finished look. But how much does window tinting cost in Colorado, and which type is right for your vehicle? This guide breaks it all down.

Why Window Tinting Is Popular in Colorado

Colorado sits at high altitude โ€” Denver alone is a mile above sea level โ€” which means UV radiation is significantly stronger than at lower elevations. The Rocky Mountain sun doesn’t just fade interiors and damage leather; it can also increase the risk of skin cancer for drivers and passengers on long trips. Window tint blocks 99% of UV rays regardless of the tint darkness, making it a health investment as much as a cosmetic one.

Beyond UV protection, window tint reduces solar heat gain by 35โ€“70% depending on the film, keeping your car cooler and reducing the load on your AC โ€” a welcome benefit during Colorado’s hot summers.

Types of Window Tint Available in Colorado

Not all window tint is created equal. Here are the main types you’ll encounter from detailing and tinting shops in Colorado:

    • Dyed Window Film โ€” The most affordable option. Dyed film adds darkness and reduces glare, but offers limited heat rejection and fades over time. Best for budget-conscious buyers.
    • Metalized Window Film โ€” Uses tiny metallic particles to reflect heat. More durable than dyed film and better at heat rejection, but can interfere with GPS, cell signals, and radio reception.
    • Carbon Window Film โ€” A mid-range option that doesn’t contain metal. Carbon tint rejects significant heat, won’t fade, and doesn’t interfere with electronics. A popular choice for value and durability.
    • Ceramic Window Film โ€” The premium option. Ceramic tint uses nano-ceramic particles to provide excellent heat rejection (up to 50โ€“70%), blocks 99% of UV rays, and won’t interfere with any electronics. Highly recommended for Colorado’s climate.
    • Crystalline (Clear) Film โ€” Provides maximum UV and heat protection with almost no visible tint. Ideal if you want protection while maintaining a factory look or live in a state with strict VLT (Visible Light Transmission) laws.

How Much Does Window Tinting Cost in Colorado?

Window tinting prices in Colorado vary based on the type of film, the number of windows, and vehicle size. Here are typical price ranges:

    • Dyed Film (full car): $100โ€“$200
    • Metalized or Hybrid Film (full car): $150โ€“$300
    • Carbon Film (full car): $200โ€“$400
    • Ceramic Film (full car): $300โ€“$700
    • Front two windows only: $75โ€“$150 (any film type)
    • Windshield strip/visor band: $50โ€“$100
    • Large SUV or truck premium: Add $50โ€“$150 to above ranges

Most reputable tinting shops in Colorado offer a lifetime warranty on ceramic and carbon films, which makes them an excellent long-term value despite the higher upfront cost.

Colorado Window Tint Laws: What You Need to Know

Colorado has specific laws governing how dark your window tint can be (measured in VLT โ€” Visible Light Transmission percentage, where lower VLT = darker tint):

    • Windshield: Non-reflective tint allowed only on the top 4 inches
    • Front side windows: Must allow more than 27% of light in (27% VLT minimum)
    • Back side windows: Any darkness allowed
    • Rear window: Any darkness allowed (if vehicle has dual outside mirrors)

Always verify current Colorado tint laws with your local tinting shop, as regulations can change. A reputable shop will ensure your tint is installed within legal limits.

How Long Does Window Tinting Take?

Most full-car window tinting jobs take 2โ€“4 hours at a professional shop. After installation, you should avoid rolling your windows down for 3โ€“5 days to allow the film to cure properly. Plan accordingly if you need to use your car immediately after.

Find Window Tinting and Car Detailing Near You in Colorado

Many car detailing shops in Colorado also offer window tinting services โ€” so you can get your car detailed and tinted in one visit. Browse our directory to find detailing and tinting professionals near you:

How much does window tinting cost in Colorado?

Window tinting in Colorado typically costs $150โ€“$600 for a full vehicle, depending on the film type and number of windows. Basic dyed film starts around $150โ€“$250, while premium ceramic tint for a full car can run $400โ€“$600 or more.

What is the legal window tint limit in Colorado?

In Colorado, front side windows must allow at least 27% VLT (visible light transmission). Rear side windows and the rear windshield have no restriction for non-commercial vehicles. Always check current Colorado state laws before tinting, as regulations can change.

Is ceramic window tint worth it in Colorado?

Yes โ€” ceramic window tint is especially valuable in Colorado due to the state’s high-altitude UV intensity. It blocks up to 99% of UV rays and significantly reduces interior heat without darkening the windows, keeping your interior cooler and protecting seats and dashboards from fading.

How long does window tint last in Colorado?

Quality window tint in Colorado typically lasts 5โ€“10+ years depending on the film type and sun exposure. Colorado’s intense UV at high altitude can degrade lower-quality films faster, making ceramic or carbon tint a better long-term investment than basic dyed film.

  • Interior Car Detailing in Colorado: What’s Included & Cost (2026)

Interior Car Detailing in Colorado: What’s Included & Cost (2026)

Your car’s interior takes a beating every day โ€” coffee spills, pet hair, muddy shoes, and Colorado trail dust all add up. A professional interior car detail can restore your cabin to near-factory condition and even improve your vehicle’s resale value. This guide explains what’s included in an interior detail, how much it costs in Colorado, and what to expect when you book a professional.

    What Is Interior Car Detailing?

Interior car detailing is a thorough, deep cleaning of everything inside your vehicle โ€” from the dashboard and seats to the carpets, door panels, and headliner. Unlike a standard car wash that only cleans the outside, an interior detail focuses on removing embedded dirt, stains, odors, and allergens from every surface inside your car.

In Colorado, interior detailing is especially popular after ski season (when wet boots and gear soak into carpets), summer hiking season (dust and dirt everywhere), and after pets have been in the vehicle.

What’s Included in a Full Interior Detail?

A professional interior detail typically includes all or most of the following:

    • Vacuuming โ€” Deep vacuuming of seats, carpets, floor mats, trunk, and hard-to-reach crevices. Pet hair extraction requires extra time and effort.
    • Carpet & Upholstery Shampooing โ€” Hot water extraction (steam cleaning) to remove embedded dirt, stains, and odors from fabric seats and carpets.
    • Leather Cleaning & Conditioning โ€” Leather seats and surfaces are cleaned with pH-balanced cleaners, then conditioned to prevent drying and cracking โ€” essential in Colorado’s dry climate.
    • Dashboard & Trim Cleaning โ€” All plastic, vinyl, and hard surfaces are wiped down and treated with a protectant to restore a clean, matte finish and block UV damage.
    • Glass Cleaning โ€” Interior windows and mirrors are cleaned streak-free for improved visibility.
    • Door Panel & Jamb Cleaning โ€” Door panels, handles, and jambs are scrubbed and wiped down.
    • Air Vent Cleaning โ€” Compressed air and detailing brushes are used to remove dust from air vents and tight spaces.
    • Odor Elimination โ€” Ozone treatment, odor bombs, or enzyme-based cleaners are used to remove pet odors, smoke, food smells, and mildew.

How Much Does Interior Car Detailing Cost in Colorado?

Interior detailing prices in Colorado vary based on vehicle size, condition, and the services included. Here are typical price ranges:

    • Basic Interior Detail (small car): $80โ€“$130
    • Standard Interior Detail (sedan/SUV): $120โ€“$200
    • Full Interior Detail with Shampoo (SUV/truck): $175โ€“$300
    • Deluxe Interior + Leather Treatment: $200โ€“$400
    • Add-on: Pet hair removal: $30โ€“$75 extra
    • Add-on: Odor removal (ozone treatment): $50โ€“$150 extra

Mobile interior detailing (where the detailer comes to your home or office) may cost 10โ€“20% more than a shop-based detail, but saves you significant time and hassle.

How Long Does an Interior Detail Take?

A standard interior detail typically takes 2โ€“4 hours depending on the size of the vehicle and level of dirtiness. Heavily soiled vehicles, or those needing carpet shampooing, leather treatment, or odor removal, can take 4โ€“6 hours or more. If you book a full detail (interior + exterior), expect 4โ€“8 hours total.

Tips for Maintaining Your Interior Between Details

To protect your investment and keep your interior looking great longer:

    • Use all-weather floor mats โ€” Especially important in Colorado winters when snow and mud track in constantly.
    • Vacuum regularly โ€” A quick weekly vacuum prevents dirt and debris from embedding into carpets and fabric.
    • Address spills immediately โ€” Blot (don’t rub) spills as soon as they happen to prevent permanent stains.
    • Keep a microfiber cloth in the car โ€” For quick wipe-downs of the dashboard and console to prevent dust buildup.
    • Park in shade when possible โ€” Colorado’s intense UV radiation degrades dashboards and fades upholstery over time.

How long does an interior car detail take in Colorado?

A standard interior detail takes 2โ€“3 hours for a clean vehicle. Heavily soiled interiors, pet hair, or extensive stain removal may take 4โ€“6 hours. Deep cleaning services and odor treatments can take longer.

What’s the difference between interior detailing and a basic car wash interior?

A detail is a comprehensive deep clean. Unlike a basic car wash interior wipe-down, detailing includes thorough vacuuming of all surfaces, carpet and upholstery shampooing, leather conditioning, steam cleaning crevices, deodorizing, and applying protectants to all surfaces.

Is professional interior detailing worth it in Colorado?

Yes โ€” especially given Colorado’s conditions. Fine red clay dust, pine pollen, road salt tracked in on boots, and pet dander from outdoor adventures accumulate quickly in Colorado vehicle interiors. Regular professional detailing preserves materials, removes allergens, and significantly extends the life of upholstery and carpets.

  • Paint Correction Cost in Colorado: What to Expect (2026)

Paint Correction Cost in Colorado: What to Expect (2026)

Paint correction is one of the most transformative services a detailer can perform โ€” removing swirl marks, scratches, oxidation, and water spots to restore your car’s factory shine. Colorado’s intense UV exposure, road debris, and harsh winters make paint correction more common here than in many other states. But what does it cost, and is it worth it?

    What Is Paint Correction?

Paint correction is the process of removing surface defects from your vehicle’s clear coat using machine polishing. Unlike a basic wax or sealant, paint correction actually removes a thin layer of clear coat to eliminate scratches, swirls, and oxidation โ€” rather than hiding them temporarily. It can be done as a single-stage, two-stage, or multi-stage process depending on the level of damage.

Paint Correction Costs in Colorado (2026 Prices)

Paint correction pricing in Colorado varies based on vehicle size, damage level, and the number of stages required:

    • Single-stage correction: $200โ€“$400 for a sedan/small car. Removes light swirls and minor oxidation. Good for vehicles with mild surface imperfections.
    • Two-stage correction: $400โ€“$800 for a sedan. Addresses moderate swirl marks, light scratches, and oxidation. The most common level of correction for daily drivers in Colorado.
    • Multi-stage (wet sanding + polish): $800โ€“$2,000+ for a sedan. For severe scratches, deep oxidation, or heavy UV damage. Often performed on luxury or collectible vehicles.
    • SUVs and trucks: Add 25โ€“50% to the above prices due to larger surface area.

Why Colorado Cars Need Paint Correction More Often

Several factors unique to Colorado cause accelerated paint degradation:

    • High UV index: At 5,280+ feet, Colorado receives significantly more UV radiation than coastal states. Clear coat fades and oxidizes 30โ€“40% faster at altitude than at sea level. White and light-colored cars are especially vulnerable to chalking.
    • Automatic car washes: Many Coloradans use drive-through automatic washes during winter to remove road salt quickly. Unfortunately, the brushes and chemicals in these washes cause thousands of micro-swirls over time.
    • Road debris: I-70 and mountain roads are notorious for loose gravel and chip seal. These cause stone chips and micro-scratches that require professional correction.
    • Hail damage: Even minor hailstorms leave dimple-like indentations. While paintless dent repair (PDR) handles the structural damage, paint correction addresses any associated finish damage.

Is Paint Correction Worth It in Colorado?

For most vehicle owners, yes. Paint correction significantly increases resale value, protects the remaining clear coat from further UV damage, and makes the application of ceramic coatings or paint protection film more effective. If you’re planning to sell your vehicle, a paint correction + ceramic coating package can add $1,000โ€“$3,000 to the resale value. If you’re keeping the car, paint correction followed by a quality coating will protect it for years.

Find Paint Correction Specialists in Colorado

Not all detailers offer multi-stage paint correction โ€” it requires specialized equipment, training, and experience. Browse paint correction specialists in your city:

Or search all Colorado detailers offering paint correction and ceramic coating services.

How much does paint correction cost in Colorado?

Paint correction in Colorado typically costs $200โ€“$2,000+ depending on the severity of paint damage, vehicle size, and the number of correction stages. Single-stage polishing starts around $200โ€“$400, while multi-stage correction for severe swirls, scratches, and oxidation can reach $1,500โ€“$2,000+.

What is paint correction and do I need it?

Paint correction is a professional polishing process that removes swirl marks, fine scratches, water spots, and oxidation from your vehicle’s clear coat. If your car’s paint looks dull, hazy, or has visible swirls in direct sunlight, paint correction can restore its original gloss.

How long does paint correction last in Colorado?

Paint correction results are permanent for the defects removed, but new swirls and scratches can form over time. Protecting your paint afterward with ceramic coating or paint sealant helps preserve the corrected finish for years, especially given Colorado’s harsh UV and road conditions.

Can paint correction remove deep scratches?

Paint correction can remove surface-level scratches and swirls in the clear coat. Deep scratches that penetrate through the clear coat to the base coat or primer require touch-up paint or professional respray โ€” paint correction alone cannot fix these.

    What these numbers tell you

    • The cheapest prices are for the coating alone. Someday Shine’s 7-year coating is $419 by itself and $719 once the paint is polished first. That $300 gap is the prep work.
    • Longer protection costs more. At West Denver Detailing, going from a 1-year to a 10-year coating triples the starting price, from $499 to $1,499.
    • Big vehicles cost more. Trofe Detailing charges $1,800 for an SUV or truck versus $1,300 for a sedan, about 38% more.
    • Brand matters at the top end. Shops using professional-only products like Gtechniq start around $1,500.

Ceramic Coating Cost by How Long It Lasts

Coatings are sold by how many years they’re rated to last. Here’s what Colorado shops post for each range, using the prices in the table above.

    Rated to lastPosted starting pricesExamples
1 year$219โ€“$600Someday Shine $219 (coating only); West Denver Detailing $499 (with prep); AutoGlow Detailing $600 (with a full detail)
    2โ€“3 years$750โ€“$1,000Pure Finish 3-year $750 (includes Level 2 paint correction); Car Lab Detailers 2-year $800โ€“$1,000
    5โ€“7 years$419โ€“$995Someday Shine 7-year $419 coating only, $719โ€“$919 with polishing; West Denver Detailing 5-year $899; Pure Finish 6-year $995
10 years$1,499โ€“$1,995West Denver Detailing $1,499; Pure Finish $1,995 (includes Level 3 paint correction)
Starting prices posted by Colorado shops, checked October 2026. Confirm with the shop before booking.

A 7-year coating can cost less than a 3-year one. That’s because the years on the label matter less than the prep. The $419 7-year price is the coating alone; the $750 3-year package includes a Level 2 paint correction. Compare what’s included, not just the number of years.

Ceramic Coating Cost by Vehicle Size

Bigger vehicles take more product and more hours of polishing, so most shops price by size. Trofe Detailing in Fort Collins posts $1,000 for a compact car, $1,300 for a sedan and $1,800 for an SUV or truck. A Auto Detail Service in Federal Heights says its coatings typically run $700โ€“$3,000 depending on vehicle size. Expect an SUV or truck to cost roughly a third more than a sedan for the same package.

Dealer detail centers sit at the top of the range. Prestige Auto Spa at Porsche Denver West posts $1,899 for its ceramic body package.

Why Most Shops Don’t Post Prices

13 of the 21 shops we checked ask you to call or request a quote instead. That’s not always a sales tactic. Most of the work in a ceramic coating is preparing the paint: washing, removing embedded contamination, and polishing out swirls and scratches. A coating locks in whatever is underneath it, so a car with heavily swirled paint needs hours more prep than a new car. One shop puts it plainly on its site: most of the work for ceramic coating is prep work.

Several shops sell coatings in durability tiers rather than set prices. Among the shops we checked, you’ll see 1-, 3-, 5-, 7-, 9- and 10-year options, using brands such as CarPro, IGL, Gtechniq, XPEL, Ceramic Pro, SunCoat, Showcar Ceramics, System X and Adam’s Polishes.

Is Ceramic Coating Worth It in Colorado?

It’s worth it if you plan to keep your car for a few years and you’ll wash it properly. Colorado is tough on paint: strong sun at high altitude fades and oxidizes clear coat, winter road de-icers cling to lower panels, and summer brings bugs, tree sap and dust. A coating makes all of that easier to wash off and adds a layer of UV and chemical resistance.

What a coating won’t do: it won’t stop hail dents or rock chips. A ceramic coating is a thin, hard layer, not a cushion. If chips on your hood and bumper are the concern, look at paint protection film (PPF). For storm damage, see our guide to car detailing after hail damage.

It’s probably not worth it if you’re selling the car within a year, you plan to keep using automatic brush car washes, or your paint is badly scratched and you don’t want to pay for correction first.

7 Questions to Ask Before You Book

    1. What product are you using? A good shop names the brand and product. “Our ceramic” isn’t an answer.
    2. What prep is included? Wash, decontamination, and how much polishing: none, one step, or multi-step correction.
    3. How long will it last, and is that a warranty? Ask whether the warranty comes from the manufacturer or the shop.
    4. What voids the warranty? Many require yearly inspections or maintenance visits.
    5. Does the price change for my vehicle? SUVs and trucks usually cost more.
    6. What’s covered? Paint only, or also wheels, glass, trim and headlights?
    7. How do I care for it, and how long before I can wash it? Most coatings need time to cure.

    Red flags

    • A “lifetime” coating at a budget price
    • No paint prep before the coating goes on
    • The installer can’t tell you what product they use
    • No written terms for the warranty

    Frequently Asked Questions

How much does ceramic coating cost in Colorado?

Based on posted prices from 11 Colorado shops (October 2026), 1-year coatings start around $219โ€“$600, multi-year coatings with basic prep start around $419โ€“$1,500, and high-end shops charge $1,300 for a sedan and $1,800+ for an SUV or truck.

Why is there such a big price range?

Most of the cost is paint preparation. A coating applied to paint that hasn’t been polished is cheap; one applied after polishing or paint correction costs much more. Durability (1 to 10 years), product brand, and vehicle size also change the price.

How long does ceramic coating last?

Colorado shops sell coatings rated from 1 year up to 10 years. How long yours actually lasts depends on the product, the prep work, and how you wash and maintain the car.

Does ceramic coating protect against hail or rock chips?

No. A ceramic coating is too thin to stop dents or chips. Paint protection film (PPF) is the better choice for chip protection on hoods and bumpers.

Is ceramic coating worth it in Colorado?

Usually yes, if you’ll keep the car for a few years and hand wash it. High-altitude sun and winter road de-icers are hard on paint, and a coating makes it easier to clean and adds UV and chemical resistance. It’s usually not worth it if you’re selling soon.

    What These Numbers Tell You

    • A full detail runs about $250 to $325 to start, across Broomfield, Brighton, Lakewood and Parker.
    • Interior-only details cost more than exterior-only. Interiors take longer: vacuuming, shampooing, leather and stain work.
    • Add-ons add up. Rocco’s posts $30 for pet hair and $40 for stain removal. Shiny Mobile Auto Detail in Parker lists add-ons from $15 to $30 and a travel fee of $20 or more outside its home area.
    • Package ranges are wide. 2TD Mobile Detailing’s packages run from $149 to $799, because the top tier includes paint correction and coating.

Detailing vs. Paint Correction vs. Ceramic Coating

A standard detail cleans and protects. Paint correction removes swirls and scratches with machine polishing, and ceramic coating adds long-term protection on top. Those cost more: see our ceramic coating cost guide ($219 to $1,800+ from 8 Colorado shops) and PPF cost guide.

    What Changes the Price

    • Vehicle size. SUVs, trucks and minivans usually cost more than sedans.
    • Condition. Pet hair, sand, spills and odors take extra time.
    • Shop or mobile. Mobile detailers come to you; some charge a travel fee outside their area.
    • Season. After winter, many Colorado cars need extra work to remove road treatment residue from paint, wheels and carpets.
