How to Choose a Ceramic Coating Installer

  • Ask what product they use. A good installer names the brand and product line.
  • Ask what prep is included. Most of the cost and most of the result comes from washing, decontaminating and polishing the paint before the coating goes on.
  • Shop or mobile? Coatings need clean, dry conditions to cure. Shops offer a covered bay; if you book mobile, ask what happens if the weather turns.
  • Get the warranty terms in writing, including any yearly inspections it requires.

Ceramic Coating or PPF?

A ceramic coating makes paint easier to clean and adds UV and chemical resistance, but it will not stop rock chips or hail dents. For chip protection on hoods, bumpers and mirrors, look at paint protection film installers. Many shops above offer both.
